According to the old custom, children are given coloured eggs to hide for Easter, which they have to look for in the room or outdoors.

The pattern for Fig. 73 shows eggs as they are decorated in Bukovina and how they can be easily decorated with the help of Figs. 74 - 75. Depending on whether you want the previously boiled eggs to be plain or coloured with white decoration, you place them once or several times in red, yellow or brown paint (non-toxic egg paint) after you have drawn the white or lighter decorations with hot wax using a wooden stick. Each time after the eggs have been removed from a colour solution, the areas that are not to be coloured further should be covered with wax.
